Hello and welcome to Silver Wave Jewellery.
I am Deborah, the owner and creator of a small business specialising in contemporary handcrafted 925 sterling silver, copper, brass and semi-precious gemstone jewellery including rings, bangles, earrings and necklaces. Many are 'one of a kind' pieces and ideal if you love individual artisan creations.
I aim to create pieces from modern, dainty and elegant through to more unique statement pieces. If you are looking for jewellery that is a little bit different to treat yourself or searching for a gift then you have come to the right place! I am happy to discuss custom pieces or tweaks to my existing designs. I value honesty and will always advise if the custom piece you are looking for is not within my skill set!
My love of making handcrafted jewellery started with a one day course in Dorset creating silver rings and bangles and has continued ever since. I had weekly jewellery classes for a couple of years alongside learning as I went along in my studio. I gained lots of experience along with the necessary failures - all a huge learning curve! All my pieces of jewellery are completely designed and created by me from my studio in Berkshire, taking inspiration from nature.
Texture is added to my work with hammers, metal stamps, etching, fusing and reticulation, fold forming and a rolling mill. I let my creativity flow by looking at all the textures around me in everyday life from patterns on leaves and flowers to markings on stones and shells and see where it takes me. I try to be as sustainable as possible and aim to recycle all my scraps of silver into new pieces of jewellery such as these:
If you are buying for a gift I can ship direct to the recipient with the item gift wrapped and a handwritten gift note added, for no extra cost. Shipping within the UK is included in the cost of the item.
All jewellery complies with the UK hallmarking regulations and I have my own maker's hallmark registered with the London Assay Office.
Everything is handcrafted by me and many items are made to order. I aim to process (create) your order within 3 to 5 business days but generally can ship within 1 to 2 days for items I already have in stock. I ship via Royal Mail, first class.
My next in person event will be at the Henley Arts Trail taking place on the Bank Holiday weekend 4th, 5th and 6th May 2024. I will be at Venue 23, Charvil Village Hall, 100 The Hawthorns, Charvil, Reading RG10 9TX. 10am to 5pm each day. We have 20 artists exhibiting their work.
